River Clyde Flood Mapping Study

River Clyde Flood Mapping

The Australian Government’s National Flood Mitigation Infrastructure program provided funding to support the Central Highlands Council to undertake a River Clyde Flood Mapping Study.

The objective of the project was to map the River Clyde flood plain in the township of Bothwell and surrounding area, with the project being undertaken by GHD.

The Study included collecting data to better predict the likelihood and location of future flood events to improve decision making around land use, planning and future development.

The Study also identified the most effective measures that can be taken to reduce the negative impacts of flood events such as major infrastructure and property damage, destruction of crops, loss of livestock and risks to public health.
