One Stop Shop and Being Investment Ready

A one-stop shop for advice has been created for Central Highlands businesses as a key part of Council’s ongoing commitment to its Economic Development Strategy.

Community and economic development officer Philip Ridyard has joined the Council team, bringing with him more than 30 years’ experience in marketing, management of business start-ups and expansion, manufacturing retail and export trade.

He also has extensive expertise in tourism and hospitality, having run hotels in the United Kingdom and founding an international award-winning spirits business in Tasmania.

“The relative isolation of the Central Highlands sometimes makes it a lonely place for business owners who would benefit from advice, mentoring or a listening ear. It is important that businesses, whether new or long established, have the chance to prosper and grow,” he said.

The free service is part of Central Highlands Council’s commitment to supporting the business economy of the region, its business ratepayers and to attracting inward investment.
